Our First Time in a New Land

Quickie: I’m back in UTP! Goodbye Ipoh, hello.. Middle of Nowhere?

It was all about the thrill of meeting someone new in a foreign country.

Never mind the fact you couldn’t speak their language; every word she uttered dripped from her lips with that air of confident sultriness, daring you to find fault with her while knowing all too well you’d fail that seemingly simple task.

So what if her friends laughed, presumably mocking you for being the outsider?

So what if her father balked upon seeing you for the first time?

Besides, her mother was right, you know. It’s obviously a test of sorts. They want to see how quickly you can adapt to an ‘alien’ way of life; to do things in ways you’d never really thought about doing.

She’s obviously intrigued by you, and that’s not your ego speaking this time.

Hell, go along for the ride. What’ve you to lose?

For all you know, you might find a pleasant surprise by the time it all ends.
